You can’t handle the truth!

We just watched A Few Good Men on TNT. Good film (not great), tarnished slightly by the taming of the language geared to the family audience. Despite this, I find it hard to think of a scene as strong and memorable as the court interchange between Cruise and Nicholson. It has to be the best scene in a movie ever, but I’m happy to take alternative suggestions.

What about the scene in Teen Wolf where Scott’s dad emerges from the bathroom with the same unnaturally hairy face as his shocked son, confirming that his lupine tendencies are a result of heridity, not freakishness?

Or the scene in The Karate Kid where Danny LaRusso attends the school fancy dress disco dressed, uber-bizarrely, as a shower unit, complete with a circular rail and concealing curtain which prevents him being identified (and consequently getting the poop beaten out of him) by bullies? You could be forgiven for thinking that dressing as a seven foot polka-dot cloth cylinder might make him more conspicuous, but oh no. Not in Hollywoodland.

    Powerful stuff.

It has to be the final scene of Raiders of The Lost Ark where the Ark is placed in a non- descript wooden crate in a non-descript warehouse with millions of other items.

I liked the scene in “Once Upon a Time In America” when DeNiro finally meets James Woods at the party and despite them being blood-brothers from early childhood through their formative years, Prohibition and so on, DeNiro refuses to break and denies Woods his wish.

I also liked when Spongebob visits dry land with Sandy Squirrel and starts to choke.

Ah, it appears I’ll need to do some gender breakdown analysis after the results are in, as it appears there may be a distinct difference in the POVs of boys and girls out there…
