    I’ve always thought it was the opposite; ie. a single initial metaphorically denotes a final stamp of machismo, as in “I’m so self-asssured of the absurd amount of testosterone Linford-Cristieing round my veins that I donโ€™t need surplus characters to indicate who I amโ€.

    I could be wrong though and Iโ€™m actually a seething hotbed of repressed homosexuality.

    “Hi – it’s me” – ever get that on your voicemail? It works well for someone you know really well or are close to – but rubbish otherwise. In a corrorally to Simon’s excellent post above, I also think it assumes that I am well known ๐Ÿ˜‰
