Commentary inspiration

I got a comment from Hannah this evening, who was searching the web in an attempt to answer her homework assignment: what is the difference between latitude and longitude?

I’m happy on two counts: one, that she stumbled upon my post on this very subject; and two, that she felt the urge to comment.

I also enjoyed re-reading my own post. Not sure if that’s wrong. I also have no idea whether any of the content therein was used by Hannah in her response to the question.

I have to say I indulge in the occasional spot of re-reading, both of my old posts and trawling through the archives of other’s blogs.

You should never re-read your own posts. You run the risk of re-editing them, then re-reading, re-editing and going into an infinite loop from which there is no escape.

Also, regarding the Lat/Long issue: I got a book last christmas which I found interesting reading: http://www.francisshanahan.com/detail.aspx?cid=528

Lastly, I would offer this statement “you live on a spheroid, get over it” and a question “what coordinate long/lat/??? would you suggest were the earth cuboid?”
