Which came first? The hairstyle or the genocide?

When I comb my daughter’s hair after her morning bath, I can’t help thinking that the comb-across makes her look a little like Adolf Hitler. (She’s not got a moustache, I hasten to add.) I hope that the hairstyle was not the cause of Hitler’s genocide tendencies and general nastiness. If it was, then perhaps we’ve created a monster.

I often comb our children’s post-bath hair in inventive ways, mainly for my own amusement. My favourites are the aforementioned ‘Hitler’, the ‘Einstein’ and the geeky centre parting. For the latter, the placement of my own spectacles momentarily on their diminutive noses completes the look perfectly.

Get real. I think it was far more telling that Hitler’s parents called him Hitler. What else was he going to do after being called Hitler?
